WW2 US Army 5th Ranger Battalion Captain’s M41 Jacket ID’d Silver Star Recipient
Jacket overall shows some light wear, tag is missing from inside. One of the cuff buttons is replaced, some soiling on the front/back. Jacket belonged to Jim Greene who served in the 5th Ranger battalion and was awarded the Silver Star medal for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection to military operations against the enemy as commanding officer of a company of the 5th Ranger Battalion during ww2. Jim retired local to me as the rank of Colonel, the scroll which is patch king type was in the jacket pocket when the jacket was first acquired. Unfortunately the jacket is not marked inside but was acquired directly from his neighbor after Jim’s passing. It is extremely hard to find officers coats to Rangers. Jim was a member of asmic and collector as well for many years after his time in the service.
